Exhaust manifold gaskets require metal beads where the gas passes through at very high temperatures and low pressure.
Modern exhaust manifolds are made of reinforced beaded multilayer steel (MLS) to resist the component movement that arises from big fluctuations in temperature. The number of sheet metal layers depends on the distortion of the exhaust manifold. Leaks in the exhaust manifold produce high emission values, noise, loss of power and increased fuel consumption.
To protect the engine compartment from the exhaust heat, a heat shield is applied in some designs. At Elwis Royal, we have the manufacturing competences required to manufacture the heat shields in OE equivalent quality.
