Harald Nielsens Pakningsfabrik – Privately owned – Later on changed the name to Pakningsfabrikken Royal.
The Danish company Harald Nielsens Pakningsfabrik is being established with focus on developing spare parts in OEM quality to the independent automotive aftermarket.
1965
Pakningsfabrikken Royal changes name to Victor Royal.
Pakningsfabrikken Royal becomes part of the Dana Group and changes name to Victor Royal - the company still has the same focus - to deliver the best high-quality gasket- and sealing solutions to the independent automotive aftermarket.
1986
Ole Kjær Lottrup buys Victor Royal
Victor Royal becomes part of the Elwis group and changes name to Elwis Royal.
The Elwis group consists of:
- Elwis Royal Automotive - design and manufacturing of spareparts and gaskets to the automotive aftermarket.
- Elwis Royal OEM - design and manufacturing of gaskets to original equipment manufacturers
- Elwis Lighting - design and manufacturing of professional work light to the professional market e.g. automotive repair shops, and to the private consumer.
1997
More focus on automotive aftermarket
A strategic decision is taken to focus even more on the automotive aftermarket to be able to produce state of the art OEM quality gaskets and sealing solutions. Consequently, the product range is expanded to be able to supply sealing solutions for all engines important to the aftermarket.
2003
Peter Lottrup new director
In 2003 it is time for a generational change in the Elwis Group. Peter Lottrup takes over from his father Ole Lottrup and becomes the director of Elwis Royal and Elwis Lighting.
2005
Certified Tec Doc Supplier
Elwis Royal becomes certified Tec Doc supplier to one of the world’s leading vehicle and replacement parts catalogues.
The certification is giving to data suppliers who meet the TecDoc standard and TecAlliance’s quality requirements for maintenance of TecDoc data at a particularly high level.

Production in China
Gasket products continue to develop in manufacturing complexity, and it is necessary to have proper technical competencies and an ability to invest in machines & expensive tooling to be able to keep up with new technologies and secure high product quality.
With production both in Denmark and in China Elwis royal can adjust to the growing product complexity and to our customers' demands.

Russia and Eastern Europe
Elwis Royal expands distribution to Russia and Eastern Europe.
2021
Peter Andersen new director
Peter Ryberg Andersen is appointed new CEO in Elwis Royal A/S. He replaces Peter Lottrup, who has been managing director since 2003.
Peter Lottrup is appointed chairman of the board.
