Graphite Materials
Elwis material: Grafoseal C9100
Description
Material: Expanded graphite with a minimum purity of 95%. No binding agent.
Temperature range: -240 C to 450 C.
Characteristics:
C9100 shows excellent creep resistance – even under extreme mechanical and/or thermal stress.
Application use
C9100 is designed for general use in industrial and automotive applications. C9100 in combination with a steel reinforcement is commonly used to achieve increased tensile and compressive strength. The C9100 with no reinforcement can be used for thin gaskets in stable flanges.
Elwis material: Grafoseal C9112
Description
Material: Expanded graphite with a minimum purity of 96% that has been strengthened with the use of a 0.2 mm carbon steel inlay. No binding binding agent.
Temperature range: -240 C to 450 C.
Characteristics
C9112 has very fine creep resistance – even under extreme chemical and thermal stress.
Application use
This product is suitable for applications in areas involving high chemical and thermal stress, such as flange gaskets in chemical and steam plants, production plants with thermal variations, heat exchangers and gas coolers, or cylinder head gaskets and exhaust gaskets in diesel and petrol engines.
Elwis material: Grafoseal C9132
Description
Material: C9132 is an expanded graphite with an average purity of 98% (minimum 96%). The product is strengthened with the use of a 0.1 mm stainless AISI 316 steel reinforcement. No binding agent.
Temperature range: -240 C to 550 C.
Characteristics
The C 9132 has excellent creep resistance, even under extreme chemical and thermal stress.
Application use
C9132 is suitable for environments with high chemical and thermal stress as ie. flange gaskets in chemical and steam plants, production plants with thermal variations, heat exchangers and gas coolers.
Elwis material: Grafoseal C9200 (GTO)
Description
Material: The GTO is an expanded graphite with a minimum purity of 95%. It does not contain binding agents of any kind.
Temperature range: -240 C to 550 C.
Characteristics:
A corrosion-inhibiting agent is distributed throughout the graphite. This agent migrates to the metal surface of the flange and protects it from galvanic corrosion.
Application use
C9200 is designed for applications involving conducting fluids and low gasket surface stress.GTO, or its steel reinforced derivatives, should be considered in applications where cast iron flanges are used in conjunction with liquid bearing joints.
Elwis material: Grafoseal C9212
Description
Material: C 9212 is an expanded graphite with an anti-corrosion agent and a minimum purity of 95%. It is strengthened via lamination with a special inlay of carbon steel. The tanged metal inlay binds the graphite to the steel. For this reason, the product does not contain any binding agents.
Temperature range: -240 C to 550 C.
Characteristics:
The C 9212 has excellent creep resistance, even under extreme chemical and thermal stress.
Application use
C9212 is used in areas involving high chemical and/or thermal stress. For example: joints in chemical and steam works, production plants with thermal variations, heat exchangers and gas coolers, where additional protection against corrosion is required.
Elwis material: Grafoseal C9432
Description
Material: C9432 is an expanded graphite with a minimum purity of 98%. The product is strengthened with a special 0.1 mm AISI 316 stainless steel reinforcement. This tanged metal reinforcement binds the graphite to the steel. For this reason, the product does not contain a binding agent.
Temperature range: -240 C to 550 C.
Characteristics:
The C9432 is German DVGW-approved in accordance with DIN 3535 Part 6.
Application use
This product is suitable for applications in areas involving high chemical and thermal stress, such as flange gaskets in chemical and steam plants, production plants with thermal variations, heat exchangers and gas coolers.
